What are Galaxies?
A Galaxy is a whole cluster full of Nebulae and Stars. Of course, planets too. There are different kinds of Galaxies. This one in the photo is the Andromeda galaxy, our closet galaxy. What makes a Galaxy so unusual and strange? What makes it's colors? Are there more than just one? What kinds are there? Well we answered all those questions with the Hubble Telescope. Let's take a quick history lesson. The Hubble Telescope was named after Edwin Hubble. Who is Edwin Hubble? Edwin Hubble started his adult life by going to Chicago University where he studied for college. Just after that, he served in WW1. When the war ended, Hubble started doing astronomy and discovered the Andromeda Galaxy with the Hooker Telescope. He wanted to prove that there was more than the Milky Way Galaxy. There, he discovered the Andromeda.
What are some different kinds of Galaxies?
There are three main different types of Galaxies. Spiral, Elliptical, and Irregular. But there's also more. Peculiar, Barred Spiral, and Lenticular.
It is said that in the center of each Galaxy is a Black Hole. What is a Black Hole? A Black Hole is a rip in the outer of space that has a massive gravity pull that it just sucks in everything around it's range. You can't really see what's inside a black hole because of it's reflection. You can't really see it at all. It's so dark that you won't notice it until it sucks you up. Scientist believe that when a Black Hole sucks something in, it's going in so fast that it it slightly passes the speed of light.
When you think about it, you really want to know what's out there. How many things and what is out there. Scientists have discovered many galaxies that they think for every one person in this world, there's 24 galaxies. That's a whole bunch! They're also looking for life out in space.

What makes a Galaxy, well, a Galaxy?
Well you see there's many stars out there. Gravity is the one to blame by putting Stars, Nebulae, and comets/meteors together into one huge Galaxy. What made the Universe, made the Galaxies, which made the stars, that made us. Ever heard of the Big Bang? It's a theory that scientists thought of when they were researching on what made us, us. The Big Bang happened a few billions of years ago when it was really quiet in space, then all of the sudden a huge explosion happened. With that, it made gravity then the gravity made Galaxies, which made stars that exploded, which made Nebulae, which made more Stars, which made planets, which made us. I would say that that was clever wordplay.
