The Moon Changes
|
As you know, the Moon orbits around our planet. So how the Moon's phases work are that the Moon passes by our planet and our planet's shadow makes the phases and causes us to see different Moons but, of course it's our own Moon. But did you know that the Moon stays in the same position every time it orbits us.
Sometimes, the Moon goes in between the Sun and Earth and causes a Solar Eclipse. There are two main eclipses: Solar and Lunar. How a Lunar eclipse occurs is that our Moon passes our planet's umbra (A.K.A our planet's shadow) and makes a Lunar eclipse. The first man on the Moon was Neil Armstrong. His first words on the Moon were ", One small step for man, one giant leap for mankind" He died just two years ago. |
Did you know that the Moon changes from time to time? There's a cycle towards the changes of the moon. These are the names of the changes:

How does the Moon makes it's changes?
What the Moon does is it orbits us. So when you see the Moon a little closer than usual is because of your optical illusion you see with your eyes. But if you compare the illusion with the actual size, it'll be the same as it was up there. For scientists, it was hard finding what caused the illusion and why we see it. Well what it does when you see the illusion is when it collides with the horizon. So that's why in those werewolf movies we see the moon closer than it really is.
